ABOUT KUNST-STOFFE

The Berlin-based organization Kunst-Stoffe is dedicated to an artistic, aesthetic and sociological exploration of reuse and second hand culture. It maintains a large collection of used, discarded and surplus materials (for example fabric, colour, cardboard, metal, wood, foam, foil, plastics..) and makes them available as a sustainable resource for creative upcycling.

Unwanted reusable items are donated by businesses, individuals and organizations throughout the Berlin area and gathered in our warehouse where artists, teachers, social projects and creative workers enjoy the large variety of items and the small prices of our changing inventory that invites to discover its hidden treasures.

In addition Kunst-Stoffe provides well equipped workshops for wood, metal and textile and offers educational trainings in creative reuse and sustainable strategies.

wednesday: 2 p.m. - 8 p.m.

friday: 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Special material : A pallet of wooden shingles, approx. 80 cm long.

Special material : a 17" mirror-inverted computer-monitor is waiting for it's new purpose.

On the last Sunday of the month Kunst-Stoffe opens its warehouse from 3 pm until 7 pm.

!!! The last Sunday in May is Pentecost Sunday, therefore our next Open Sunday is on June 3rd, 2012. !!!

KUNST-STOFFE RECEIVES ENVIRONMENTAL AWARD

In June 2011 Kunst-Stoffe received the Environmental Award "Pankower Umweltpreis 2011". We are now the proud owner of the challenge trophy "The Golden Toad" and are pleased to the great appreciation of our work. The prize is endowed with prize money of 500 €.
